Today we take a look a bravery. The Oxford English Dictionary defines brave as an adjective meaning: Ready to face and endure danger or pain; showing courage.
Courage comes in many forms. This week is Canadian Mental Health Awareness week. Sometimes just facing the day is brave. An act of bravery can be asserting or speaking up for yourself. Perhaps bravery is heeding the advice of your physician, or trainer, or mother. #momsalwaysright
Sometimes bravery is jumping into the water to help a struggling swimmer or as grand as signing up for a marathon. It can be overcoming an injury or having the courage to embark on a radical health journey. We have a colleague here at Team Kaizen who lost more than 100 pounds. #brave #motivatingAF
When we did our research for this post, we came across a Facebook page called, The Brave Fitness – a centre in Hawaii dedicated to developing functional athletes; to helping them optimize their performance, and to helping people find the strongest version of themselves.
Just the words, ‘strongest version of themselves’ struck a chord. That to us is what being brave is all about.
T. S. Elliot said, “Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”
This month, MAY you feel brave. MAY you risk going too far. Take up Tai Chi or join a gym. Heck, being the strongest version of yourself will transfer into everything you do. Strength and bravery are close relatives, they appear in many forms. This week we not only wish for you to be brave, but also hope you find moments of strength.
